Here is my first and second variations of Frida Kahlo with the use of pattern. The first one I created a pattern on the top and bottom and changed it up by switching the direction and color filter of the form. I applied a cloud background and then a cloud overlay to the forms. The second alteration, I took the first piece and added multiple "paint brush" variations over top.
Definitely getting into the iterations successfully! I don't instantly recognize this as a photo of Frida, which is the goal. Keep destroying the icon!
ReplyDeleteOne thing to think about is maybe how to relate the effects you do to make this a piece of your to Frida. For example I know she works with a lot of flora/vegetation in her paintings/work, so maybe play off of that.
The image is not immediately recognizable which is good. I think you could try pushing the "destruction" a little more, maybe try taking the next iterations in a different direction.
